Diversity & Inclusion: A Personal and Professional Development Asset

If you walked into the office of an asset manager and you were asked to tell them your personal wealth, what do you think would be their suggestion after you provided the answer?  Indeed, no matter what your current wealth, or the lack thereof, "build value and increase your worth."

Associates for Inclusion's goal for clients that are seeking personal, professional and cultural coaching is to help you increase your worth: to yourself, your famly, your friends, your co-workers, your community and, yes, to your current or future employer.

Think about a recent application you have completed or an interview you participated in, when you were presented with the question of whether you spoke any other languages, what was your response?  For many of us, it's simply "I don't speak any other language." However, culturally competent professionals, no matter if the interviewing company is monolithic or of a more diverse nature, will be well prepared to offer a competitive edge to the company in having the skilled capability to work alongside people from varying racial, social and economic backgrounds.

Why? Becoming a culturally competent professional is more than getting along with someone different then oneself, but is also having an awareness, knowledge and appreciation for the culture of others, which is like having a second language.

A citizen more diverse in their knowledge and appreciation of other people, as with a diverse community or a diverse workforce, is much more of an asset to themselves, their family, their friends, their co-workers, their community and, yes indeed, their employer.  In short, becoming a more diverse individual and professional is imperative if you're going to excel in this century - we can help!
